On December 26, Chi Dam commune solemnly held the Ceremony to announce the Decision and receive the certificate of recognition of the commune meeting the advanced new rural standards (NTM) in 2024. This is the first commune of Doan Hung district to reach the advanced NTM finish line. In recent years, the work of building new rural areas has always been of interest and focus to the Party Committee and the government of Chi Dam commune. With the motto "New rural areas only have a starting point, not an ending point", in 2016, after being the first commune in Doan Hung district to meet the new rural standards, the locality focused on building an advanced new rural commune.

With the close direction of Phu Tho province, Doan Hung district, the active support of departments and branches, the participation of the entire political system and the consensus and support of all classes of people, Chi Dam commune has completed 100% of the criteria for an advanced NTM commune. In the period of 2020-2024, the total investment resources for new rural construction are over 108.2 billion VND, of which people contributed 30.7 billion VND, accounting for 28.5%; people voluntarily donated 114,620m2 of land and liberated trees, crops, and architectural works worth over 6 billion VND; mobilized over 9,000 laborers to build rural roads and participate in work in residential areas. Up to now, the economy has developed comprehensively and steadily. Infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools, and stations have been invested in and built spaciously. Average per capita income reached over 55.4 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate decreased to 2.43%, near-poor households 1.64%. Regularly applying scientific and technical advances, bringing mechanization into production; developing economic models of family farms and farms for high economic efficiency. In the area, there is a specialty grapefruit product Chi Dam that meets 4-star OCOP standards, successfully implementing the concentrated field model in Phuong Hung area. The fields of culture, health care, and education are interested and developed. Cultural institutions are invested in construction, renovation, and upgrading, cultural and artistic activities, physical education and sports take place vigorously. The rate of people participating in health insurance reaches 95.28%. The school system meets the needs of teaching and learning well, 04/04 schools in the commune meet national standards, of which Chi Dam Primary School meets national standards level 2, universal primary and secondary education meets standards level 3. Political security, social order and safety are ensured. The material and spiritual life of the people is improved and enhanced.

Recognizing the efforts of the Party Committee, Government and People of Chi Dam commune, on December 20, 2024, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province issued Decision No. 2566/QD-UBND recognizing Chi Dam commune, Doan Hung district as meeting the advanced NTM standards. This is an honor, a source of encouragement and motivation for the Party Committee, Government and People of Chi Dam commune, a driving force for the commune to maintain and consolidate the quality of the advanced NTM criteria and continue to strive, develop sustainably, and build a model NTM commune in the next phase.

Emphasizing that building new-style rural areas is a regular and long-term task, especially in 2025, it is expected to re-evaluate the indicators and criteria of advanced new-style rural areas for Chi Dam commune after merging with Van Du commune; therefore, he suggested that in the coming time, the commune needs to continue to propagate and raise awareness for each cadre, party member, association member and people, continue to consolidate and improve the quality of indicators and criteria of advanced new-style rural areas, towards building a commune that meets model new-style rural standards; Focus on directing production development, shifting economic structure, labor structure in agriculture and rural areas; Continue to mobilize and effectively use resources to invest in improving the quality of NTM criteria. Research and implement solutions to improve land use efficiency, focus on completing site clearance for projects in the area; innovate and improve the quality of education and training, coordinate vocational training according to labor needs; promote cultural and artistic activities, physical training and sports, invest in construction, restoration and embellishment of historical and cultural relics; effectively implement the project of collecting and transporting domestic waste in the area; enhance the leadership and fighting capacity of Party organizations, the effectiveness and efficiency of the government, innovate the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations.
